Boiler feedwater is an essential part of boiler operations. The feed water is put into the steam drum from a feed pump. In the steam drum the feed water is then turned into steam from the heat. After the steam is used it is then dumped to the main condenser.
Air is drawn in as required, via a variable speed fan. The gas valve measures the negative pressure (draught) in the venturi and modulates the gas valve in response. The gas and air is then thoroughly mixed in the correct ratio in the fan housing and fired directly into the burner.
Boiler keeps losing pressure: 7 possible reasons why - DIY
04/02/2015 · When gas pressure needs a boost Published: 04 February, 2015 Variable speed drives are particularly useful when the booster supplies multiple appliances (e.g. several boilers). If one boiler switches off, then the downstream gas pressure will increase and this is detected by the pressure transducer which relays this to the inverter
Steam Boiler | Working principle and Types of Boiler
Boiler pressure is measured by a pressure gauge, usually situated inside a panel or underneath your boiler. Well discuss the ideal amount of boiler pressure in the next section. Whilst problems with the pressure of your boiler tend to be easy to diagnose and fix,
Open both valves, to allow cold mains water into the system (you should hear it) Wait for the pressure gauge to read 1.5 bar Close both valves, one after the other Switch the boiler back on and, if needed, press the reset button
Pressure; If your boiler pressure is too high then this could result in the boiler leaking water, this is because the boiler needs to let out some of the excess pressure to avoid the unit imploding. You can tell if your boiler pressure is too high if the needle on the pressure gauge is pointing anywhere above 2.
Make sure you can see the boiler pressure gauge while using the filling loop. Open the valves on both sides to let water into your system. Wait until the pressure gauge reaches 1.5 bar then close each valve, one after the other. Switch your boiler back on and, if you need to, press the reset button.
