17/12/2019 · The condensate pipe is used to drain all the excess water produced from the condensing process in your boiler. Since the water, aka the condensate, is mildly acidic (thats because it is a by-product of the condensed waste gasses), it needs to be drained through a PVC or ABS pipe. Any metal pipe used would corrode.
31/10/2016 · The condensing process is achieved by passing the piped hot flue gases through the cooler return water flowing back into the boiler. Flue gas starts to condense when it drops below its dew point of 55°C. This is why condensing boilers are designed to accommodate a return water
A condensing boiler is one of the most efficient types of boiler. This is because it is able to recover virtually all the heat from the flue gases and use this to heat your home. For the boiler to work at its most efficient, the heat exchanger needs to be equal to or below the dew point temperature. The dew point temperature is a measurement that determines the humidity of air and is the

The process starts by super-cooling the hot exhaust gases created during combustion from around 130ºC to 50ºC. This causes the hot gas to condense back into water which then falls back to the bottom of the boiler. As it falls it passes over incoming pipes which return cold water from the heating system.

27/07/2006 · About 8 months ago I had a shiny new Worcs-Bosch boiler installed. The most convenient place to drain the condensate to was a rainwater pipe. This weekend it rained a bit hard, and my kitchen ended up flooded as rainwater poured out of the boiler. The boiler also packed up.
